Responsibilities
- Lead your assigned crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial fiber optic cables.
- Read and interpret fiber construction plans, work orders, and installation instructions.
- Set up job site safety measures, including cones, barriers, and signage.
- Operate bucket trucks, pole climbing gear, and other aerial equipment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry and OSHA safety standards at all times.
- Work directly with project managers and area supervisors to stay on schedule.
- Track materials, time, and progress for accurate reporting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in aerial fiber construction.
- Hands-on experience with fiber, coaxial, and CATV installation.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 35 feet and using a bucket truck.
- Strong understanding of OSP (Outside Plant) fiber construction techniques.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret fiber design plans and follow work orders.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours at a time)
- Ability to lift 75 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed
- Capable of performing tasks that involve prolonged standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling
- Specific vision abilities, including color vision, distance vision, and depth perception
- Ability to tolerate work in extreme weather conditions
Working Conditions
This position operates in an outdoor environment, requiring work in varying weather conditions such as extreme cold, heat, rain, and wind. Exposure to construction sites, urban and rural environments, and potential risks such as natural gas or electrical shock is possible. Noise levels may vary from moderate to loud.

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
